Rugna Seva Prakalp was the result of sustained efforts of Dr. Bhalachandra G. Sathaye, a doctor in Ayurveda in May, 1991. The mission of RSP is integ Read morerated community development through health awareness, education and empowerment. Even before RSP was registered formally, it was active as an informal group of young and dedicated volunteers, mainly organizing philanthropic and health oriented activities. Free health checkup and treatment camps organised by RSP received grand acknowledgement from the society but also revealed to us the aggregating effects of illiteracy on basic health care. The effects of poor education, sanitation, and awareness collectively produce devastating effects on the society. Shockingly, RSP observed that these factors directly affect weak sections of the society, which includes women, children, and the youth. The integrated approach towards the well-being of the society would have been incomplete without the addition of activities related to environmental conservation and social development. Hence, RSP has also ventured into these fields.
