Spandana is registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 in the office of the District Registrar, Belagavi. It was started by soci Read moreally-inclined individuals, from the different fields of society viz., such as doctors, educationists, social workers, social activists and lawyers with the vision to help the marginalized women to participate in their own development to ascertain their rights by organizing and training them in human resources development. Ever since its inception SPANDANA organisation has worked with rural, urban and tribal, dalits and backward communities in Belagavi district to enhance their skills and find the necessary resources to ameliorate the conditions of their lives. Spandana primarily works for the empowerment and development of marginalized communities, particularly women and children, who are the most vulnerable. Our major areas of interventions include the following: Women Empowerment Child Rights Protection Sustainable Livelihood Empowering Adolescent Girls Rights Strengthening Women Leadership in Grama Panchayat The major activities are formation of women SHGs, enrollment of children to school, fight against violence on women, promotion of women Federation, participation of women in Panchayat Raj Institutions, protection of women and children from HIV/AIDS, promotion of child rights, child labor rehabilitation school, prevention of child marriage and child trafficking, capacity building for women & community on human rights, women rights, Child Rights, etc,

Spandana works with rural, urban, Dalit and tribal communities, particularly children, adolescent girls, women laborers and farmers in Belagavi and North Karnataka districts who lack access to basic human needs including health and education.
