Women's Cancer Initiative - Tata Memorial Hospital

The organisation supports economically disadvantaged women diagnosed with breast, cervical, and ovarian cancers, covering treatment costs at Tata Memorial Hospital for those unable to afford it, with over 5000 women supported to date. Patients meeting the poverty criteria are enrolled after clinical evaluation and documentation check. Additionally, it organizes the Indian Breast Cancer Survivors Conference annually, providing a platform for oncologists, doctors, and survivors to share experiences and insights. Monthly support group meetings offer emotional support, professional advice, and valuable interaction opportunities for patients and caregivers, facilitating a supportive environment for over 100 attendees, moderated by medical professionals and social workers.

The Women's Cancer Initiative - Tata Memorial Hospital engages in educational initiatives such as hosting annual conferences to promote advancements in gynaecological cancer care, featuring workshops and talks by national and international experts. Notably, it co-organised the 25th annual conference of the Association of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India (AGOI) and its 15th annual conference, focusing on innovative treatments and care standards. Furthermore, it actively participates in events like the Tata Platinum Jubilee Conference, collaborating with key stakeholders to address critical issues in healthcare, including the role of NGOs and corporate social responsibility in bridging healthcare gaps and reducing inequalities.
