We are a team of volunteers that primarily help the helpless poor and the needy. We believe in helping underprivileged and needy human beings. As our name is defined, we believe in serving humanity and not to any caste, religion, or tribe. We at Serve Humanity Serve God believe in the contribution of transforming lives by helping those in dire need of healthy living. The Beginning  This Charitable trust came into existence by the initiative taken by a group of friends, who follow the principles of Dasvandh laid by Guru Nanak, this team started collecting 10% of their income and started donating that part of it to the poor. The team started with helping the needy families of farmers and then moved to different sections. What do we do? Helping families of farmers The team started with providing help to the families of farmers who committed suicide as they were unable to clear their debts. The team helps these families in every possible way, be it the education of their children or ration sewa or any other basic need, and help them in standing at their feet and become independent. Helping needy patients We work with patients coming from different states such as UP, Bihar, J&K, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand and even Nepal in PGI, Chandigarh. We ‘adopt’ patients and help them with everything they need — be it an MRI, a CT scan, medication, surgeries, or anything else. Poverty is a never-ending cycle and a lifelong punishment for those affected. Undergoing medical treatment in such a situation is an additional burden. This initiative was started to bring about a change to the lives of many such helpless people by channelizing funds for their treatments. Collection and distribution of old stuff and surplus food The team collects old clothes and other stuff from people of the Tricity and distributes it among the needy and underprivileged people. The team was also used to collect surplus food from most reputed hotels of the Chandigarh city and distribute it among poor people. This drive has made the winters of several needy people easy. Marriages of underprivileged girls The team helps in the marriage of orphan and needy girls but a very basic manner. We provide the most basic things such as clothes, shoes, utensils, bedding, fans, and sewing machines. The team doesn’t believe in lavish marriages at all and is completely against the dowry system. We just help such girls with necessities. Helping poor children in studies The team from around the past two years is helping the poor and underprivileged students who are capable and desire to pursue their studies but can’t do so due to lack of resources. We are helping them in every possible way be it their fees or uniform or shoes or stationery or books and notebooks. We are visiting different Government schools of District- Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, and Mohali and helping needy students to transform their lives and contribute to building a strong future for our country. A shelter   home for quadriplegic/paraplegic patients  (a new chapter) The team has started a shelter home for quadriplegic/paraplegic patients with bedsores at Village- Ratwara located at a distance of around 6 km from PGI, Chandigarh. In this home, every effort is made by the team to cure bedsores of the patients and to make them independent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ How do we work? Raising Funds Despite being a small team, we leave no stones unturned to raise money for the tasks we have undertaken. The team reaches out to people across the city —be it friends, acquaintances, family, strangers, or anyone who can help them through social media or personally. The power of word of mouth also helps donors reach us. Step 4: After detailed consideration, the money is utilized on your chosen needy/patient or project Step 5: We track every donation and ensure that we share the video with details about the beneficiary on our Facebook page.   Working on a robust 3 Tier structure Transparency : Our activities and finances are made public through social media which is the main strength of our movement. Low-Cost treatment:  We partner with renowned health organizations to fund low-cost treatments and medication. Efficiency:  Small team size and low overheads help mobilize funds quickly. Our Future Plans and Goals Our Vision is that every human being should be provided with basic amenities i.e. Health, Education, food, and shelter. From the very beginning, we are doing all these services that are mentioned above aiming our vision with the limited resources available with us. To fulfill our Aim, we are planning to expand our service as described below Our Future Plans and Goals SCI Bedsores Treatment and Rehab Center:  We are working on 100 bedded Shelter home for the Spinal Cord Injury Disables, having the following facilities. Treat their bedsores and other injuries. Train them to take care of themselves independently.  Motivate them that they can do something, and live their life in a better way.  Getting them some work/employment that they can do with their hands. Teaching them the work so that they can earn for themselves. Charitable Hospital:  Our next project will be the Charitable Hospital with all the Facilities free of cost to the needy and underprivileged. This charitable hospital will provide health care services to a large number of the poor population.  Education:  Further we are planning to start Charitable Education Center, where basic Education will be covered, and further support them as per their interest, whether in higher education, sports, or any other skill development.
