Vimor Handloom Foundation, established in 1974 by Mrs. Chimy Nanjappa and Pavithra Muddaya, is dedicated to preserving traditional handloom saree moti Read morefs and techniques. Over 45 years, it has trained numerous weavers, providing them with mentorship, designs, financial support, and empowerment to transition from weavers to master weavers and eventually entrepreneurs. Through this process, weavers gain independence from Vimor while continuing to produce traditional sarees for the market. The foundation's vision is to enhance its efforts in heritage conservation and livelihood improvement. It achieves this through various initiatives, including the Living Museum, skill development programmes, job creation, research, advocacy, and publishing. By offering academic and institutional support, the Vimor Handloom Foundation ensures the continuation of its objectives and the sustainable growth of traditional handloom practices.
