  • Muskaan - Education Programme

    State

    In Hauz Khas Village, the centre is called Muskaan. With an emphasis on women and children in particular, Muskaan organises several projects and events aimed at enhancing the living conditions of those who live in Hauz Khas Village's slums:
    Afternoon education for economically disadvantaged girls aged 5 to 15.
    Provide the girls attending the afternoon school with wholesome meals, books and notebooks, stationery, summer and winter clothing and shoes.
    Classes for the girls on health and cleanliness, etiquette and good behaviour, personality development, speaking English, etc.
    Modifying courses for mothers and older girls.
    Courses on preparing wholesome meals and maintaining a balanced diet.
    Girls' computer classes.
    There are occasional arts and crafts sessions for the females.

  • Family Health Care (FHC)

    State

    The following initiatives are carried out by FHC to offer medical care to Delhi's slum inhabitants, mostly those residing in Hauz Khas Village:
    Regular Medical Clinics and Dental Examinations for check-ups of the girls attending Muskaan.
    To prevent infectious diseases, medical and vaccination clinics were held in Mayur Vihar Yamuna Khadar and Hauz Khas Village.
    Grains and pulses are distributed to the impoverished residents of these places.
    Organising clothes collection efforts for distribution to the poor.
    increasing public awareness of the importance of good hygiene and sanitation in the fight against disease.
