About
Our mission is to enable every human being to lead a healthy and happy life. Good nutrition, shelter, health care, education are the basic needs of Read more all. In spite of significant growth in both GDP and per capita consumption over the past two decades, 14% of the country, ~190 million people* remain undernourished. Although India produces sufficient food, it is unable to provide access to food to a large number of people, especially women and children. Anna Kshetra is an initiative by the Tapasya Vision Trust in Haridwar. Through this programme, we seek to provide nourishment to the extremely vulnerable sections of our society which includes children and laborers. Fresh and nutrient-rich food is also sent regularly to the underprivileged localities, orphanages and leprosy ashrams in Haridwar. *FAO estimates
Action
Anna Kshetra collects surplus unused food from social gatherings, schools, company warehouses, and households through their Anna-Doot team. The collected food is stored in cold rooms under hygienic conditions and distributed to people in need.
