Rural Development and Farmer Awareness Programme
The organisation conducted various awareness campaigns promoting the use of organic manure over chemical fertilizers. It organised 52 workshops teaching the scientific methods of producing vermicompost and other compost types. In rural areas, the institution organised numerous sit-ins discussing the significance of animal husbandry and advocated for modern agricultural practices. Tree plantation programmes were conducted with farmers to promote forestry. Addressing food security and storage issues, the organisation educated farmers on proper methods and initiated experimental programmes to control rats. A programme on mushroom production and protection benefited over 14 rural women, with our organisation's experts playing a crucial role.
-
Social Health And Family Welfare Programme
The institution actively observes de-addiction week in various regions of Bihar, raising awareness through posters and wall writings. Small seminars on the hazards of early marriage for young girls were conducted in Daudnagar, Dalmiyanagar, Koilwar, Patna slums, etc. Discussions and awareness programs cover topics like the care of pregnant women, child welfare, vaccination, nutritious food, and pure drinking water. Arsenic-related awareness programs are also conducted. The organisation collaborates with "Marwari Hospital" for cataract screening and medical treatment for the elderly in Patna slums. Over 60 medical camps have been organised in urban slums and impoverished rural areas, providing free medicines from doctors and pharmaceutical companies.
-
Environmental Protection Programme
Since its establishment, the institution has consistently observed a tradition of organising programmes on World Environment Day, celebrated on 5 June. Environmental awareness camps, picture exhibitions, and discussions emphasize maintaining cleanliness and disease-free drinking water, particularly during the rainy season. The branch office actively engages in plantation activities with public support, fostering awareness of the importance of trees. Financial support for the National Environment Awareness Campaign was received in 2006–2007, 2011–2012, and 2013–2014, enabling initiatives focused on "Biodiversity Conservation," "Solid Waste Management," and "Plantation in Human Life."
-
Women Empowerment Programme
In 2006-2007, a successful 10-day women's awareness camp was organised in Patna with Bihar Social Welfare Society's support. Over 50 awareness camps followed in slums and backward areas. The tradition includes an annual consultation programme on World Population Day, focusing on "Maternity and Child Welfare." Economic sustainability efforts empowered 600+ women through skill development in various fields. Over 350 young women received training in computer studies and English, while 345 rural women learned mushroom production. Patna slum women excelled in crafting terracotta figurines, contributing to their livelihoods during festivals like Deepawali.
-
Education Programme
Since its inception, the institution prioritized educating disadvantaged children, especially during the launch of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in Bihar (2001). The organisation bridged marginalized dropouts through education centres in Patna, Daudnagar, Buxar, Madhepura, and Dalmiyanagar. The second phase (2006-2011) focused on mainstreaming children who never attended school, emphasizing skills like terracotta sculpting before formal education. Residential Bridge Courses (RBC) successfully reintegrated 100 children into formal education, and environmental education programmes and computer training expanded opportunities for mainstream school children.
