Drishti Foundation, a non-profit organisation, was established in 2009 with the name DATRI. It aims to save lives threatened by severe blood disorders Read more like Blood Cancer, Thalassemia, Leukaemia, Aplastic Anaemia, and Sickle Cell Anaemia. As a Section 8 organisation registered with the Government of India, DATRI focuses on building an extensive database of potential Blood Stem Cell Donors accessible to patients worldwide. Through systematic donor drives, DATRI raises awareness and enrolls potential donors, recognizing the critical need for genetic compatibility in Blood Stem Cell Transplants. The vision of DATRI is to create a society where every patient requiring life-saving blood stem cells has the opportunity to find a matched, willing donor. To achieve this, DATRI is committed to establishing a registry of dedicated, voluntary donors who are HLA-typed, well-informed, and willing to donate to patients in need. Recognizing the challenge of finding matches within the family, DATRI emphasizes the importance of diverse donor registries, particularly crucial for patients of Indian origin. With a vision and mission aligned towards saving lives, DATRI plays a vital role in facilitating the search for suitable donors, contributing to the global effort in this life-saving cause.

Stem Cell Donor Awareness and Enrollment Programme
Considering the profound impact of blood disorders like cancer and Thalassemia, becoming a Blood Stem Cell Donor is a crucial step in providing hope and a potential cure. With a mere 25% chance of finding a familial donor, patients often rely on Unrelated Blood Stem Cell Donors, where the odds of a match range from 1 in 10,000 to 1 in over a Million. The organisation emphasizes the significance of this act, as an Unrelated Blood Stem Cell Transplant is frequently the sole cure for such life-threatening disorders. To contribute to this life-saving cause, individuals are encouraged to take the initiative by registering as potential Bone Marrow or Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Donors.
