Swargasaathi Charitable Trust is such an organization solely dedicated to animal welfare and wellbeing alike. It all began as a feeding of 10-12 strays daily and then the number started swelling up. Today the numbers have crossed 500+, spread over an area of 30 kms. radius. New Delhi, a city with more capillary streets, and even more capricious people, is a city full of life. From every walk of life, from lives of animals and people alike, it is said to be the heart of India S w a r g a s a a t h i Within the confines of this very heart, The FeedStrays programme is spearheaded by Sulakshmi Dasgupta and her team. After nearly 15 years of selfless service feeding the hungry mouths, the Swargasaathi Charitable Trust came into being in the year 2013. Swargasaathi’s flagship Initiative – The FeedStrays Programme, is a monumental effort on behalf of Sulakshmi Dasgupta, working towards the well being and care of stray dogs, covering roughly about 30Km. radius and feeding and ever growing numbers, today it is more than 550 dogs daily. Stray Dogs being territorial, Swargasaathi work force attends to about 80-85 designated spots where in each such spots minimum 5 to 20 strays awaits for their regular meals in their respective territories every day. All these effort translate to 18 hours of hard labour daily, involving over cooking of 350 kg of freshly cooked rice and meat every day, 365 days a year come rain or sunshine.
