Prathyasha, a project initiated by Mellow Circle in 2007, stands as a beacon of hope for children battling HIV AIDS. Situated on a 17000 sq. ft. plot Read morenear Avadi, Chennai, India, it currently provides a caring home for 21 children, with plans to expand to accommodate 50 in the future. The organisation addresses the comprehensive needs of these children, encompassing physical, emotional, educational, nutritional, and medical aspects, embodying its name 'Prathyasha,' signifying hope. Prathyasha is not just a shelter; it is a nurturing environment equipped with facilities to ensure the well-being and development of its young residents. Staffed with dedicated professionals including a Project Coordinator, Home Caretaker, Asst Caretaker, Cook, Maid, Watchman, and Driver, the organisation offers a holistic approach. Educational support comes in the form of a part-time Tutor, while guidance Counsellors address psychological needs. Mellow Circle members contribute by teaching various skills, and partnerships with external organisations like the Ann Foundation bring opportunities for Spoken English classes via Skype. The organisation's commitment extends to creating a home away from home, complete with dormitories, a library, computer facilities, and a Kitchen Garden for the children's active involvement. The courtyard, serving as a playground, further promotes their physical and mental well-being.

Education Programme
In its education initiative, the organisation focuses on integrating children into both Government and private schools, emphasizing individual potential. Special daily classes at the home supplement their regular studies. Notably, two senior children achieved impressive scores of 72% and 84% in their 12th standard exams last year, and with ongoing support, they are now pursuing higher education.

Healthcare Programmes
To ensure the well-being of children with HIV/AIDS, the organisation focuses on fostering overall health through a holistic approach. It strengthens their immune system with medical treatment, balanced nutrition, rest, exercise, and a positive lifestyle, aiming for an extended and healthy life. The children receive education about HIV/AIDS and healthy eating practices. Regular check-ups, including monthly ART medicine distribution and biannual CD4 count assessments, are conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Child Health and YRG Care. Special camps organised by Dr. S.N. Mothi, a dedicated advocate for HIV+ kids, provide additional medical support. Dental health is addressed through collaboration with Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Ditto Sharmin. The organisation's comprehensive care approach encompasses physical and emotional aspects to prevent depression and promote a positive mindset among the children.

Vocational Training Programme
The organisation, through its proposed project, aims to provide vocational training to enhance the employability of 50 HIV-affected children (above 12 years) and other orphan children in Avadi Municipality, Chennai. By offering specific job-oriented training, it seeks to equip them with certified skills, ensuring a competitive edge in the job market. This initiative reflects the organisation's commitment to empowering these children by preparing them for specific skilled occupations through formal vocational training at Prathayasa Home.

Mellow Circle Prathyasha Trust, ensures a vibrant atmosphere by celebrating major festivals with joy and special menus tailored to the occasion at Prathyasha. The children actively participate in hosting diverse entertainment programmes, which are attended by Mellow Circle members and distinguished guests.
