Association for Rural Development (ARD), since its inception in 1985, has been working for the development of disadvantaged and discriminated women, Read morechildren, farmers, rural poor elders and young people especially girl children in the district of Kanchipuram, Guduvancheri of Tamil Nadu. We work in the area of education, women empowerment, sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, entrepreneur development and sustainable livelihood. Mr. D. Selvaraj is the founder of the organization, who is more dedicated to the rural poor and has integrated short term as well as long term objectives and activities which has to bring out scope for economic development in the target area. ARD has formed a farmers club and linked them with NABARD for agriculture training. Under our livelihood programme, we train widows and poor women in computers, tailoring and jute bag making according to their interest and make them join our Self Help Group and link them with the banks and have provided loans to support their livelihood. We have also supported their children, especially girl children by sponsoring their school fee, books, pen, dress etc.
