Aatapi Seva Foundation evolved as a response to address unstated needs of community emerged in dynamic engagement between corporate: TML Ind. Ltd and Read morecommunity of Gajera, Piludara, Kareli and Vedach villages in the year 2008. Aatapi is a company incorporated under the erstwhile Companies Act, 1956 and licensed under Section 25 of that Act for “company - not for profit”, endeavoring towards uplifting the communities by making them self reliant and empowering them to live life with dignity. AATAPI’s mission and vision find inspiration from ‘AATAP’- a Pali language word, derived from Buddhist teachings, which stands for “diligent hard work”. At AATAPI, this is interpreted as committed, holistic and untiring endeavor to achieve the desired objectives in community development initiatives with the active participation of the community and the dynamic engagement of AATAPI team with other stakeholders. AATAPI’s APPROACH Umbrella approach is striving towards promoting and ensuring rights of constituencies – thus helping them with realizing a life of dignity, equality, security, peace. Aatapi engages with individual needs to community needs i.e. movement from Swa to Samuha. Continuous construction, nurturing and persistent strengthening of community organizations and forums for pluralistic decision-making bringing about the vital shift from Swa to Samuha, from self to community making the development process rooted and sustainable CBOs thus emerged are Ujaas Bachat Dhiran Grahak Sahakari Mandali Ltd., “Vivekanand Khet Utpadakoni Vividhlakshi Ane Rupantar Karanari Sahakari Mandali” (VKUM), Viklang Parivartan Sangathan, 4 Women Milk Cooperatives) reaching almost 5000 families. GEOGRAPHICAL OUTREACH : Presently AATAPI is engaged in 45 villages of Jambusar block, Bharuch District. Areas of Intervention AATAPI is focused on four pillars of development: 1. Livelihood Enhancement(Traditional and Alternative Sources) and Economic Development 2. Health and Well Being 3. Inclusive and Holistic Development of Children 4. Water and Environment (Drinking, Irrigation, Household Use, and Cattle)

    Aatapi's core mission revolves around increasing land productivity through targeted interventions. Emphasizing the delivery of high-quality education and training, it introduces a comprehensive set of best practices tailored to local soil and water conditions. Aatapi is dedicated to fostering linkages and local synergies, enabling communities to assert their rights and access entitlements to bolster agriculture as a sustainable livelihood. Moreover, Aatapi collaborates with women to develop animal husbandry as a viable supplementary income source, actively promoting the establishment of women-run dairies to maximize profits.

    Aatapi spearheaded the establishment of a tool bank, overseen by the Farmer Producer Organization in Jambusar. In its initial phase, the Tool Bank has acquired 17 large and small tools and machines, serving the requirements of over 400 farmers across 16 villages. Aatapi's involvement is primarily focused on supervision and capacity building. To ensure effective management and development, a steering committee comprised of members from partner organizations and the FPO has been established to provide guidance and fortify the tool bank's operations.
