Karunai Vizhigal Samooga Vizhippunarvu Sevai Trust

Karunai Vizhigal Samooga Vizhippunarvu Sevai Trust, founded by selfless social workers Mrs. Maragatham and Mr. Siva Sankaran, envisions establishing a Read moren economically empowered and educated society. The organization focuses on women's empowerment, education for vulnerable children to eradicate child labor, abuse, and child marriage, ensuring child rights and protection, fostering a safe and clean environment, providing livelihood opportunities for women, and facilitating skill development through training. Operating in Buvanagiri, Keerapalaym, and Parangipettai blocks in Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu, Karunai Vizhigal has been actively involved in relief measures for Cuddalore Flood victims, supporting 2000 families with essentials through collaborations with various foundations. The trust also promotes dairy development and small businesses as rehabilitation initiatives for 50 SC/ST women affected by the flood. Additionally, a care and support home with educational assistance for 25 boys from marginalized communities has been functioning in B. Mutlur, Parangipettai block, supported in part by ONGC, for the past seven years.

The mission of the organization is the empowerment of women and education for vulnerable children to ensure child rights and eradicate child labor, abuse, and child marriage.

The trust has been operating since 2004 and has received support from international organizations, as evidenced by its involvement with the Friends Collection and Earlham College Archives from 2013 to 2016.
