Programs

  • Women Empowerment

    District

The Women Empowerment Program facilitated the placement of the first transwoman in a government job on a contract basis in 2005 within the Government of Tamil Nadu. This milestone paved the way for subsequent placements of several transwomen in government positions. Additionally, over the past two years, the program has successfully assisted nearly 45 women with disabilities in securing employment opportunities in the private sector. These efforts reflect the program's commitment to promoting inclusivity and creating equal employment opportunities for marginalized groups in society.

  • Specially Abled Empowerment

    District

Under the Specially Abled Empowerment initiative, a Women's Wheelchair Basketball Team achieved notable success by winning both the South Zone championship and the Nationals in 2017. Additionally, the program is actively involved in mentoring a Para-Athletic Team comprised of women with disabilities. This initiative aims to provide opportunities for specially abled individuals to excel in sports, fostering their physical and emotional well-being while promoting inclusivity and breaking barriers in the athletic arena.
