The managing committee, elected in 2016, oversees the organisation's operations. The organisation's goals encompass ensuring safe motherhood and 100% child survival at birth, providing health and early education services to rural communities, empowering individuals through skill development and income generation programmes for self-help groups (SHGs), and offering relief and rehabilitation during disasters. Its key focus areas include health and nutrition, education, empowerment, livelihoods, and women's empowerment. Through these efforts, it strives to uplift marginalized communities and enable their self-reliance.

Pre Primary Education Programme
The organisation operates pre-primary education centres in Kantiberia and Sarifnagar villages in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas District. These centres serve 105 underprivileged children aged 3 to 5, providing education through dedicated lady teachers who use learning aids to prepare the children for admission to local primary schools, despite limited resources and with minimal honorarium.

Free Coaching Centre Programme
Sarifnagar Shishu Kalyan Samity operates a free coaching centre from class V to X at Choto Chira bus stop in South 24 Parganas District, West Bengal. Currently supporting 55 underprivileged students, the centre, managed by four devoted teachers, offers coaching despite minimal compensation. The centre boasts excellent annual examination results, with some students securing places on merit lists. Notably, the organisation aided 105 disadvantaged school-going children by providing essential learning materials, and school uniforms, and covering school fees, affirming its commitment as a staunch ally of the poor and needy.

Mother & Child Health Education Programme
Sarifnagar Shishu Kalyan Samity collaborates with the Institute for Indian Mother and Child (IIMC) in Sonarpur, Kolkata, for the MCH-E project aimed at enhancing the health of mothers and children in Mandir Bazar block. This initiative focuses on providing comprehensive health services to mothers and children while improving the nutritional status of malnourished children in Sarifnagar and Kantiberia villages. The support from the Rotary Club of Sonarpur, West Bengal, further contributes to the success of this project.

Women Empowerment, Poverty Alleviation & Income Generation Programmes
Sarifnagar Shishu Kalyan Samity has established 46 Self Help Groups (SHGs) comprising marginalized women within the community until the financial year 2015-2016. Each SHG consists of 15 members along with designated leaders. These groups aim to empower and train disadvantaged women in income generation, fostering self-reliance. SSKS conducts regular training programmes focusing on locally available resources like Systematic Rice Intensification (SRI) and Sunflower cultivation for income generation. Additionally, the organisation arranges seminars, meetings, and rallies to raise awareness on critical issues such as bride torture prevention, dowry, and alcoholism. These initiatives witness active rural women's participation, becoming highly successful. Awareness camps covering crucial topics like consumer protection, women empowerment, health, immunization, environmental concerns, and anti-tobacco campaigns are also organized by SSKS, reaching the targeted population, particularly women.

Veterinary Camp Programme
Sarifnagar Shishu Kalyan Samity collaborates with the Rotary Club of Sonarpur, Kolkata, to conduct an annual veterinary camp during the winter season in Sarifnagar Village, benefiting farmers and cattle owners in Mandir Bazar block of South 24 Parganas District, West Bengal. The camp, facilitated by a veterinary surgeon, focuses on raising awareness among cattle owners about prevalent diseases in cows, buffalos, goats, hens, ducks, and poultry birds in the area. The veterinarian provides necessary treatments, distributes medicines, and advises on cases that may require referral to District Hospitals. This initiative ensures better animal health and welfare within the community.
