SXCCAA is the Charitable Society or Association formed in 1985 registered under West Bengal Societies Registration Act 1961, no: S/49334 of 1985-1986 Read more by the Ex-Students of St. Xavier's College (Autonomous) Kolkata with the objective of organizing philanthropic activities, fundraising events and knowledge sharing programs for the members and also society at large. For the last 35 years, SXCCAA has been attached with lots of charitable and social welfare activities - some of them are mentioned as highlights: SXCCAA has an annual calendar of regular activities which includes organizing Medical Camps at City Campus of St. Xavier's College as well as Rural Campus of the College, organizing Blood Donation Camps every quarter, organizing Eye Check up Camps in collaboration with reputed optical clinics, supply of medicine to poor & marginalized people of rural bengal, running a Charitable Primary School at at Paikhala, South 24 Parganas - a backward district of West Bengal with free mid-day meal, free books, free school uniform and shoes to the students; providing regular salary to school teachers. Apart from SXCCAA has been providing 100% Scholarship to hundreds of poor and marginalized first generation college goers. Apart from these regular activities, SXCCAA members volunteer into an array of rehabilitation activities like relief work during natural calamities & disasters occurring all over the India and neighbouring countries like relief work for Aila Flood Relief, volunteering and relief camp facilitation during Kerala Floods, relief activities during Nepal Earthquakes and many more. Recently during COVID 19 Pandemic outbreak, SXCCAA has distributed food and ration bags to around 50,000 families all across India especially Kolkata, Guwahati, Siliguri, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru apart from contributing a substantial relief to State Emergency Relief Funds constituted by respective State Governments, Distributing PPE Kits and Hand Sanitizers to Doctors and Medical Workers at the College Campus as well as Rural Healthcare Camps. The Distribution process is still going on - more initiatives are in the pipeline. Additionally, SXCCAA has played an important role at Amphan Cyclone Relief by an initiative called Gift a Roof, where almost 1000 poor villagers and underprivileged families were given benefits by repairing their houses with new roofs.
