Grameen Shramik Pratishthan is a not-for-profit social purpose organization founded in 1981 by Gandhian Fellows to work with rural marginalized sectio Read morens. Since then GSP has been endeavoring for the empowerment of rural visually challenged youth, rural women, farmers, rural communities through constructive intervention programmes. The organization is working in one of the most underdeveloped and drought-prone regions Marathwada. The organization has developed SWADHAR Training and Rehabilitation Center for Rural Persons with Disability which has emerged as an innovative and unique alternate rehabilitation model. Comprehensive rehabilitation support and empowering persons with disabilities from takers to valued contributors is the founding principle of the model. GSP aims to transform the lives of 5000 rural persons with disabilities in the next five years.

Programs

  • SKF Scholarship Programme for the Girls of Marathwada region

    District

    In 2017, SKF India Ltd. launched the SKF Scholarship Programme for girls in the Marathwada region as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts. Grameen Shramik Pratishthan serves as the official implementation partner for this initiative in the Marathwada Region. Each year, a carefully structured selection process identifies 40-50 deserving girls from underprivileged backgrounds to receive support through this program, currently benefitting 132 girls.

Milestones & Track Record

GSP has developed the SWADHAR Rehabilitation Center for Rural Persons with Disability, recognized as an innovative best practice by the National Council of Rural Institutes in 2010, and received the Precision Social Award in 2016 for its social contributions.
