About

Tarun Sangha was established in the year 1966 by a young group of boys of 12-14 years for the all-round development of their native as well as the ad Read morejacent villages. With time, it has expanded its activities not only in the district but also in other three adjacent districts of the state with national and international acclaim. During our 54 years of journey, we have completed innumerable social welfare activities in the field of education, environment, health, mother and child care, women development, physically challenged persons, training for youth and women, sports and culture, international work camps, etc. through a one-time project and permanent institution viz. Tarun Sangha Public Library (An W.B. Govt. sponsored rural library}, Tarun Sangha Information & Documentation Centre (An Indira Gandhi National Open University Study Centre-2829D), Jyotirmai Databya Chikitsalaya (a homeopathic charitable dispensary), Mother Teresa Sikshaniketan ( a primary school for poor and needy children), Tarun Sangha Kala Niketan ( inculcates art and cultural activities). All these projects were completed/ are running with the help of the general public, different ministries of State and Central Govt., National Bodies, International Agencies, and Corporate Bodies. In addition to the running institutions, we have now decided to establish elementary schools for children of the daily wage migrant workers in the nearby brick kilns, an orphanage/old age home, a vocational training center for educated unemployed youth and girls, self-help group for women. We also have in our mind to develop the infrastructure of our Mother Teresa Sikshaniketan viz. provision of safe drinking water facilities for the children, smart classroom, providing of mid-day meals for the needy children, and construction of a separate building for the school. Infrastructural development of the charitable dispensary and development of the play-field in the area is also very much required. Provision of making safe and healthy guest rooms for international volunteers who take part in our international work camp programs is also much needed. For the above needs to be fulfilled we request generous help and support from all the members of the public and philanthropic institutions which will be suitably acknowledged.
