Solar Lightpost Project
Travelling in the evening can be risky, especially in villages near forests or wildlife habitats. Traditional torches may not provide sufficient illumination in such areas due to their limited range. Solar light posts offer an ideal solution for these locations. They illuminate a wide area, are energy-efficient, and cost-effective in the long term. Since they draw energy from the sun, they don't incur any ongoing expenses, making them particularly suitable for rural and underprivileged villages. Saving Tiger Society has installed over 40 solar light posts in various villages in Sundarbans. This project is carried out based on the specific needs of each community, with regular reviews and surveys conducted to inform decision-making.
Milestones & Track Record
Saving Tiger Society has implemented successful projects like the dog squad initiative and solar power installations in rural communities near tiger habitats.
