Brothers Association for Solidarity and Empowerment Society [BASE] is a non-governmental and not for profit organization registered under Article 21 Read moreof Societies Registration Act 1860 of Government of India. It is one of the progressing and grassroots level organizations initiated by the Institute of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. The Brothers of the Sacred Heart is an indigenous congregation founded in the year 1903. The Congregation has more than 221 Permanent Members who are committed and dedicated their life for the service of the people who are marginalized, such as, Dalits, Tribals, Other Backwards, Differently Abled, women and children. BASE is a society initiated by Brothers to serve the people of Bihar in the year 2013. In 2012 three young brothers, who are motivated for the social empowerment of people, reached Bihar and made a field survey of our present working area. After a yearlong study of the field, the brothers have decided to work for the upliftment of Mahadalit and marginalized people in and around Biharsharif, Nalanda District. Creating dignified employment opportunity to the unemployed and unskilled youths, empowering women for their social upliftment and ensuring education possible to every child whatever may be the condition of their families are the main thrust areas of our organization. To address the issues that are impediments to reach out these thrust areas, BASE evolves with different short-term and long-term programs to ensure the realization of these thrust areas. Our Vision: To prepare a self-reliant society where there is no discrimination and disparity in any form and where people get the justice that is due to them and live in peace and get the opportunity to develop themselves. Our Mission: To provide an equal opportunity to all the people, especially to the weaker section of the society, to develop socially, economically, politically, culturally, and educationally. Our Goal: To help integral development process for vulnerable individuals and groups by providing the necessary assistance to sustain their lives and conditions. Our Objectives: To facilitate the empowerment of Dalits, Mahadalits and Tribals by promoting the collective consciousness of people from these communities and other socially disadvantaged communities in our working areas. To preserve and enhance livelihood option and food security of the rural and urban poor. To undertake capacity building of different social centres, partner organizations and different kinds of Community Based Organizations promoted by BASE’s social intervention. To facilitate and promote community-based health care program. To provide diploma courses on technical skill training to youths to facilitate their employment opportunities and dignified life in their working place. To provide short-term vocational skill training to youths and women that adds value to their life in the form of employable skills and entrepreneurship. To facilitate both in-school and off-school educational and supplementary education programs to the children to ensure education to all children and to control over the school drop-out.
