Rotary Club of Pune Katraj Charitable Trust (RCPK) is a 25-year old NGO carrying out various humanitarian projects in the community & a part of R Read moreotary International; the highest 4-star rated NGO with a history of 115 years in community service. Over the last two decades, RCPK has implemented various path-breaking projects in water and sanitation, education, woman empowerment & healthcare. These initiatives have ensured enhanced incomes, quality education, improved hygiene and gender equality. The funds are generated with the help of its own Rotary members, The Rotary Foundation and Corporate donors. For the upcoming Rotary year 2021-22, we propose to execute a Global Grant service project: Voice and Speech Disorder Clinic at Sassoon General Hospital, Pune which will be carried out with contributions from CSR, The Rotary Foundation and RCPK members. The project is estimated to cost INR 72 lakhs. The proposed Voice and Speech Disorder Clinic will be the FIRST Clinic setup in any government hospital in Pune and expected to benefit approx 15000+ patients over a period of 8 years with the following objectives - To Cater for the needs of patients with voice and speech disorder from low and medium socioeconomic background who have developed voice problems over a period of time due to their profession like teachers, hawkers, preachers, street singers, etc. Very early-stage diagnosis of patients with Laryngitis, Vocal cord paralysis, Phonotrauma, Laryngotracheal Stenosis, Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis and Vocal cord cancer, Oesophageal Cancer etc This unique project is envisioned after multiple rounds of discussions and community assessment with concerned doctors, institutes and those suffering from Voice and Speech Disorder.
