By creating an environment that encourages abundant life, the organization aims to empower people with physical or mental disabilities to recognize and utilize their abilities, enabling them to make meaningful contributions to society. As a bridge between individuals with disabilities and community resources, the organization focuses its efforts in Bangalore and surrounding villages in South India. The mission involves practical life-skills training, provision of mobility aids, physiotherapy, job placements, education sponsorship, computer training, counseling, and government advocacy. In pursuit of its goal, the organization adopts a supportive approach, offering a 'hand up' rather than a 'handout'. The organization believes in encouraging self-reliance and independence, instilling a sense of purpose and fruitfulness in the lives of those facing challenges due to disability. Through its initiatives, the organization strives to create a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities, promoting inclusivity and holistic well-being.

Programs

  • Mobility

    proVISION ASIA offers a range of mobility aids, including wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, and blind sticks. Monthly mobility distributions are organized in both rural and urban areas throughout Karnataka. These aids are tailored to address specific disabilities and are distributed to individuals accordingly. Additionally, proVISION ASIA extends its support by donating these specialized mobility aids to hospitals, other NGOs, police stations, retirement centers, and government offices.

  • Disability Awareness

    proVISION ASIA provides training to students and adults on "How to be a better friend to someone who is differently-abled." The organization conducts service learning training in corporations, delivers customised assemblies in schools, offers contextual classroom instruction, teaches sign language, and facilitates choreography and group interactions. This comprehensive approach aims to shift the focus of disability awareness in a new light.

    From Pre-K to postgraduate programs, proVISION ASIA believes in the transformative power of education and inclusion, recognizing their impact on individuals across various age groups.

  • Mithra Special School

    The school envisions fostering independence in children with disabilities, emphasizing a holistic approach that encompasses academic, social, physical, aesthetic, and spiritual growth. Currently, there are 35 enrolled students who face intellectual and physical challenges. The school's administrative structure includes a Principal, an Administrator, two primary teachers, two co-teachers, two teachers' assistants, and additional support staff.

  • Empowher

    The objective is to offer high-quality education to women impacted by disability with the goal of facilitating their employment. proVISION ASIA is fervently dedicated to witnessing the success of women with disabilities within the community. The empowHER project entails a three-month certificate course, concentrating on spoken English, fundamental computer skills, and personal development.
