Rapid Action For Human Advancement Tradition(RAHAT), Bihar was incorporated on August,12,2002 under Society Registration Act 1860. It's register Read moreed office is located in Kishanganj, while it's area of operation extends to all districts of Bihar. A large part of the activities of the RAHAT are conducted through selected Non-Governmental Organizations and other training institutions. Funds are obtained from Government of Bihar and Government of India and other donor agencies through budgetary allocations for specific projects and covered by sanctions through Government Orders. RAHAT is a name known for the ideology and philosophy of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Moulana Abul Kalam Azad and Mother Teresa into action. The founder of the organization Dr. Farzana Begum has her root in Education Movement. She gives education on the ideology of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. All the tortures and atrocities turned this young dynamic youth into a seasoned development worker. Her journey of development started in this sector as a volunteer. After completion of apprenticeship of 5 years as volunteers She has decided to register an organization to do the work of in more organized way. Dr. Farzana Begum with some of her close association founded RAHAT as a registered organization on 12th August 2002. RAHAT has been registered legally under FCRA and is quite active in the field of Rural Development since 2002 in all districts of Bihar. The organization focusing on major issues like education, Health, domestic violence, Human Trafficking, social reform, Training, Livelihood promotion, disaster, rights and capacity building and sustainable on-farm and non-farm agriculture based income generation activities through the promotion of SHGs/CBO and right based approach. Our intention is local support organizations for community based groups with adequate infrastructure and technical support, so that these groups became self sufficient to analyze and under development activities of their area. OUR JOURNEY: The Rapid Action For Human Advancement Tradition(RAHAT) plays a pivotal role in the statewide effort to ameliorate poverty, to generate awareness and capacity building of the marginalized section of the society in general and of women in particular. The Rapid Action For Human Advancement Tradition(RAHAT)philosophy is oriented towards sustainable development through organizing groups of women and youth in target rural areas and judicious use of government resources for the large benefit of the people. Rapid Action For Human Advancement Tradition(RAHAT) a not–for-profit making organization envisages Capacity Building at all level through their Training and Consultancy wing for the development of the Society and Women Empowerment with the focus on sustainable Livelihood Promotion. Rapid Action For Human Advancement Tradition(RAHAT ) is a support institution that is committed to quality in Self-Help Banking registered in 2000 as a non-government public society, Rapid Action For Human Advancement Tradition(RAHAT) has already been recognized as a pioneering technical support organization in the field of promotion of Community Based Organizations (CBO) aiming to meet the needs of the various stakeholders involved in the promotion of member-owned and member-managed microfinance institutions. The organization was established in 2002 having a team of dedicated professionals working with over 100 Self Help Group’s poor households in Kishanganj district. Over the last years, Rapid Action For Human Advancement Tradition(RAHAT)has gained experience in promoting livelihoods initiating various methodologies. Rapid Action For Human Advancement Tradition(RAHAT)has been successful in standardizing intervention through sub-sectorial approach. Our highly qualified key resource persons, along with their junior team working with a lot of enthusiasm and dedication The organization has imparted training to the adolescent girls of 8 different districts on ‘ Health, Hygiene & Sanitation and Nutrition, Education( BEP/SSA . Apart from this, currently the organization has contributed service on MAHILA HELP LINE & SHORT STAY HOME supported by Women Development Corporation and District Administration. And other activities done with the collaboration of Different Agencies in different issues like Combat Human Trafficking, Disaster, Livelihood promotion, Computer education, Domestic violence/Gender Justice, Family Planning, Health awareness, Legal/right awareness, Education, Entrepreneurship programme, Child protection, Women Empowerment Overall Goal: Reduce the social acceptance of violence against women and bring a positive change in the policy and programme environment that perpetuates its acceptance at an institutional and community level. Aims and Objectives: To popularize the aims and purpose of the United Nations and its system and to promote its program and activities amongst the mass of society within India. To promote international understanding, peace and tolerance through education, science, culture and mass communication Organize program in the aims of social work, human resource management, Health system, culture and support the Research program.To encourage mainstreaming of child recreation centers with mainstream education. To improve pregnancy planning and spacing, and prevent unintended pregnancy. To ensure the community`s active involvement and support in rural development programme for its sustainability. To improve the healthy development, health, safety, and well-being of adolescents and young adults. To improve the socioeconomic condition of the small and marginalized section of the community particularly minority, ST,SC,OBC,EBC and women through various integrated rural development initiatives and innovations Vision : RAHAT envisions a society in which poor and disadvantaged people are developed and self-reliant. Improvement in the Quality of lives of poor and disadvantaged women and adolescents in the state of Bihar. Establish a progressive and sustainable society in which all members have a dignified life (free from social, economic, political differences), live in peace and enjoy right of expression and opportunities, with equal participation. Mission : RAHAT's goal is to establish a people-initiated development process and to ensure socio-economic development of people. RAHAT is committed to follow people's participation, institution building, human rights, gender equity, environment friendliness, poverty alleviation and people's sustainability in achieving its goals. RAHAT is following a path of organizational sustainability, consistent with people's self-reliance. Considering development as a complex process, RAHAT encourages partnership and networking with government and other like-minded organizations. RAHAT has experienced, energetic, dynamic workers and members committed to achieve its goals. It believes in people's capacity and creativity and also in participatory management and is committed to ensure participation at every level. Our focus areas for Social Development: 1.Women Empowerment: through Training on Livelihood ,Capacity building, legal training. 2.Health - Nutrition and Family Welfare- Medical camp Health awareness ,sanitation, safe Drinking water, Mother and child health, Reproductive health and Awareness Building. Family planning, 3.Education - Adult education ,Formal and Non formal education ,Vocational education. 5.Combat Human Trafficking 6.Disaster Reduction and Rehabilitation 7.Prevention of Gender based & Domestic violence & also promoting PWDVA 2005. 8.Water Sanitation & Hygiene 9.Reproductive and Community Health 10.Child Protection and Care 11.Local Self Governance 12.Income Generation /livelihood Promotion. 13.Promote basic Formal and non-Formal education with vocational Training for social change. 14 Entrepreneurship programme for weaker section especially marginalized women/girls. AWARD & recognition: Dr. Farzana Begum has received National Youth Award through Former President of India, Dr. A.P.J .Abdul kalam on 12 Jan.2007 at Pune. Also got awarded from Sate and District level From Nehru Yuva Kendra sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs and spor Govt .of India.
