At Khwaahish NGO, a young group has been dedicated to transforming lives in Kashipur, Uttarakhand since 2017. Programs

  • Project Sampoorna - Skill

    Project Sampoorna aims to provide underprivileged children with employable skills and opportunities for work and entrepreneurship. While focussing on instilling a love for learning, teaching skills such as henna design, embroidery, beautician skills, and computer operation are imparted. The goal is to end child labour and empower these children to lead successful lives. Through vocational training, children discover their hidden talents and create art that is sold at shows to support their education and self-sufficiency. It is believed that by encouraging handmade crafts, one can uplift individuals, families, small businesses, and the economy, while also nurturing the artist's heart.

  • NEEV Programme

    Khwaahish is primarily concerned with providing education and holistic development to children in order to assist them in becoming future leaders and changemakers. Under its flagship initiative, Dakhila, 150+ students are enrolled in private institutions (Tularam, Tarwati, Shishu Mandir, and Gurunanak Sr. Secondary School). Project Neev is a daily programme of nighttime classes. Some of the activities under project NEEV are:
    1. Campaign RAAH.
    2. Book Donation Drive.
    3. Online Classes.
    4. Guest sessions.
    5. Childrens Park.
    6. Kitab Ghar.
    7. Educational Trip.

  • Aarogyam Programme

    Regular health check-ups are conducted for children with less developed systems and weaker immunity to ensure their physical and mental well-being. They are taught to maintain excellent health, and proper hygiene, eat nutritious foods etc. The youngsters are taken for routine health checkups and followed up from time to time. Activities under the project are:
    1. COVID Database maintenance.
    2. Health checkups.

  • Project SARA - Compassion

    Khwaahish NGO conducts rescue operations in the Kashipur area, specifically targeting dogs and cows, along with other animals like monkeys, cats, and birds. These operations carried out under the SARA project launched in 2017, aim to rescue abandoned animals, providing them with food and shelter. The primary goal is not only to save lives but also to instill compassion in children. The SARA project has successfully saved and treated over 600 animals, with more than 200 puppies finding homes through adoptions. The project encompasses activities such as establishing animal shelters, providing nutritious meals, distributing reflective collars, facilitating adoptions, implementing PANAH initiatives, and conducting rescue operations.
