Their mission is to uplift the impoverished and marginalized, fostering an ideal civil society. Registered and authorized by the Indian government, the name "RUDYA," or "Heart," represents their purpose—serving as the vital centre of civil society to empower the underprivileged, particularly the poor and oppressed, for an improved quality of life and sustainable human development. RUDYA's work encompasses capacity building, partnerships with rural and tribal communities, government collaboration, participatory learning, research, resource mobilisation, education, networking, advocacy, and consultancy, focusing on sustainable initiatives tailored to the needs of the people they support.

Programs

  • Livelihood Promotion and Self-employment Program

    RUDYA has established a youth development program, offering leadership training and self-employment opportunities to young individuals. Additionally, the organization has taken steps to provide guidance on government schemes and assist with loan applications for the youth. RUDYA has introduced several programs to facilitate economic initiatives, including information services, self-employment guidance, and self-employment training. To enhance communication and support, RUDYA has set up a WhatsApp group called 'RUDYA Volunteers' through which employment news and other relevant information are disseminated.

  • Safe Drinking Water Project

    RUDYA operates within the tribal regions of Maharashtra State and collaborates with the Japan Asian Association and Asian Friendship Society (JAFS) based in Japan. Over the years, "RUDYA" has successfully set up 25 open wells and 28 tube wells in different areas of Gadchiroli District, consistently taking a leading role in addressing the issue of clean drinking water. In the past financial year, RUDYA further extended its efforts by drilling two bore wells in tribal villages, one in Dhawali and another in Phasitola, located in the Dhanora region of Gadchiroli District.

  • Self-help Groups (SHGs) Program

    RUDYA has also taken the initiative to empower and enhance the skills and attitudes of women in rural areas. To date, "RUDYA" has established 100 Self-Help Groups (SHGs), benefiting approximately 1,200 women. The organization consistently provides skill training, including group formation, bookkeeping, and micro-enterprise development. Many women who have benefited from these projects have established small enterprises, resulting in a steady and positive monthly income. Notable projects facilitated by RUDYA include the Honey Project, Fishery Project, Group Farming, Brick Making, and the Milk Project, among others. These projects are managed and run by the SHG women, contributing to their economic empowerment and community development.

  • Indo-Japan Marathi Primary School, Padatola

    The INDO-JAPAN Marathi Higher Primary School in Padatola, Taluka Chamorshi, stands out as a unique institution serving tribal and underprivileged students. The school offers primary education up to the 7th standard and currently enrols 90 students. With a dedicated team of well-qualified teachers and staff, the school provides a strong educational foundation. Regular activities such as monthly parent meetings, family visits, and educational awareness programs, with the support of JAFS, significantly contribute to achieving the school's goals. Furthermore, the school offers hostel facilities, computer access, a library, sports equipment, and musical instruments to ensure the holistic development of the students.

  • Climate Change and Green Scout Program

    This relatively new program focuses on raising awareness and actively participating in environmental initiatives, such as afforestation, tree planting, and horticulture. RUDYA has launched the "Green Scout Troops" as part of this program, successfully establishing 30 such troops in various schools, involving 700 school students. In the past year, the Green Scout program organized and oversaw the planting of 400 trees in locations including Muska, Gadchiroli, Lakhamapur, Bori, Padatola, Waghbhumi, and Mahawada, contributing to environmental conservation efforts.

  • SATHI Rural hospital and Health Programs

    This health program encompasses various health-related activities in its intervention area such as conducting eye camps, health check-ups, healthy body competitions, family planning initiatives, and sanitation programs to ensure the well-being of the community. Additionally, "SATHI" Hospital (Social Awareness through Health Initiative) was initiated on December 24, 2017, in Muska, Ta. Dhanora, Dist. Gadchiroli, with the support of JAFS, Japan. Over the past year, a total of 540 patients have been examined, with common health issues among patients reflecting the critical role played by these health programs in addressing the healthcare needs of the community.

  • People Empowerment through Cooperative Societies program

    Cooperative societies play a significant role in rural economic development, and RUDYA has actively taken part in this by establishing the "Adarsh Rural Credit Cooperative Society" with the participation of the residents of Lakhmapur Bori, a region encompassing ten small villages. In this cooperative, community members pool their savings, and the society provides loans to small shopkeepers, farmers, small businesses, and others for various purposes. The society has gathered a deposit of Rs. 60,20727 from its members and distributed loans totalling Rs. 3849598 to 451 individuals in need during the year. With 491 individual members and 10 SHG group members, this cooperative project is a crucial step towards self-reliance and economic empowerment in the community.
