Offer knowledge in the areas of conservation, restoration, and preservation of particular artworks; additionally, promote capacity-building by fostering the development of skills via training initiatives. When a natural or man-made disaster strikes, take immediate action to protect the environment and assist the local government in protecting cultural assets. Encourage cooperation, memorandums of understanding (MoU), and alliances with the government and other domestic and foreign organizations. Obtain funding for initiatives related to education and conservation.

INTACH operates through various divisions such as Architectural Heritage, Natural Heritage, Art & Material Heritage, Intangible Cultural Heritage, Heritage Education and Communication Services, and others to conserve India's natural, built and intangible cultural heritage.
