The Soni Memorial Trust, established in 2021, focuses on three main objectives: A. Education and life skills for children from poor and underprivil Read moreeged sections of society Promoting literacy among children from poor families like daily wagers, labourers, etc including children with special needs. We provide basic informal education at our self-learning centre to prepare them to get admitted to regular schools. This is done by a regular teacher and visiting professionals and experts from various fields. We also provide support to them on a need basis for school fees and other educational expenses. Health & Sanitation: Generating awareness among children to maintain good personal hygiene and at home for a healthy life. Distributing high-quality personal hygiene items such as soaps, toothpaste, prickly heat powders etc to children from time to time. Art & Culture: Introducing children from a very young age to the various art forms like painting, and music, and giving them knowledge on festivals and culture in our country with emphasis on giving values on humanity and love for our country. Art classes are given by expert teachers regularly. Digital Learning: Providing basic digital learning and knowledge to young children daily and preparing them for handling computers and the internet in future. This involves giving them practical sessions. Sponsorship: Arranged sponsorship for 8 students admitted to the SRF School, Sector 40 in Gurgaon for their tuition and other educational requirements. These students were prepared for this admission by our school. Life skills: These children coming in from poor and marginalised families require awareness and training in life and social skills for inclusivity in society and it generates confidence in the children. B. Food Drives and Care for the Poor and Elderly Mid-Day Meal Program: Providing nutritious meals to poor elderly individuals on the streets or daily wagers and labourers. Care for Senior Citizens in the age bracket of 80 years and above: Offering interactive sessions to the seniors in this age bracket giving them company and spending time with them doing interactive activities to beat their loneliness, overcome depression and provide guidance in care to the needy ones. 2. Healthcare Support: Supplying medical products and equipment to seniors in need. 3. Livelihood: Guiding youth for their bright future in unconventional occupations and small self-employed businesses and be self-reliant.
