Believing that women's educ Read moreation is key to national development, MKSSS empowers women through education and social responsibility, supporting senior citizens with Old Age Homes and helping court-committed girls with Earn and Learn Schemes. The organisation started with two girls' schools in Satara (1922) and Wai (1925), and later expanded to include Bhaskarrao Karve Adhyapak Vidyalaya (1945). Renamed Hingne Stree Shikshan Samstha in 1949, it now includes colleges such as Shri Siddhivinayak Mahila Mahavidyalaya (1990), Cummins College of Engineering for Women (1991), and Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture (1994). With over 32,000 students in 64 educational units across Maharashtra, MKSSS continues to empower girls from rural areas to pursue education and self-reliance.

Teachers Training Programme
Parvatibai Adhyapika Vidyalaya in Karvenagar, established in 1916, offers a D.Ed. course and various service courses for primary school teachers across Maharashtra. Bhaskarrao Karve Adhyapika Vidyalaya in Erandwane, founded in 1945, is renowned for its high-quality D.Ed. program. Since 2005, Smt. Shakuntala Nargundkar Shikshashastry B.Ed. Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Pune, has been offering a B.Ed. course, approved by Kavi Kulguru Kalidas Sanskrit Vidyapeeth. In 2008, the College of Education for Women in Shirgaon Ratnagiri began its B.Ed. program, affiliated with SNDT Women’s University and approved by NCTE.

Skill development Programme
The MKSSS Centre for Skills Development offers training programs designed to enhance employability. Located in a 6000 sq. ft. space at the Kusum Patki Vyavasay Shikshan Kendra in Karvenagar, the centre features state-of-the-art infrastructure, including advanced technology and expert trainers. Programs include modules on Soft Skills, Business Communication, Digital Literacy, and domain-specific courses such as Customer Service, Digital Marketing, and Financial Accounting.
Milestones & Track Record
MKSSS has expanded from its initial 'Home for Widows' in 1896 to a vast network of 62+ educational units across Maharashtra, including the establishment of specialized colleges like Cummins College of Engineering for Women (1991) and Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture (1994).
