About
The Bengaluru Sustainability Forum (BSF) is an inter-institutional collaborative initiative focused on addressing the long-term sustainability of urba Read moren and peri-urban landscapes. Its primary focus is on public goods and urban commons such as water, air, and soil. The main goal of BSF is to convene and share knowledge on various aspects of sustainability in the urban context, particularly in Bengaluru. It achieves this by fostering dialogue and collaboration among a wide range of stakeholders. One of the key approaches BSF uses to facilitate knowledge exchange is hosting invitation-based retreats on specific urban sustainability topics. These retreats provide a platform for participants from diverse educational and professional backgrounds to share perspectives and approaches in an informal setting. While BSF is not a traditional funding agency, it offers a Small Grants Program that provides seed funding for innovative local projects aimed at bridging the gap between research and on-the-ground action. In recent years, BSF has expanded its outreach on sustainability by engaging the wider public through various mediums such as film festivals, podcasts, exhibitions, and workshops.
