    • Cleaner & Greener future for Communities

      Description

      Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL) is dedicated to a cleaner, greener future. Recognising climate change's severe impacts, such as water scarcity and droughts, STL has developed programmes for sustainable transformation through community engagement.

      Under its Mission Green initiative, STL aims to plant 5 million trees by 2025. In Vetale village, Maharashtra, STL reforested 40 acres with over 9,000 plants and constructed water harvesting structures for sustainability. In Aurangabad, STL has planted over 250,000 trees to enhance the region's green cover and mitigate industrialisation's effects.

      STL's Holistic Water Programme, in partnership with the World Bank’s Water Resources 2030 group and the Government of Maharashtra, focuses on building water-resilient villages in Aurangabad. The programme prioritises women's participation, community involvement, and alignment with governmental schemes, having replenished nearly 2.5 million cubic meters of water through over 90 water conservation structures. STL also integrates environmental initiatives into its operations to maximise impact and promote responsible practices.
