The project was initiated to develop a natural gas distribution network across the National Capital Territory of Delhi, serving domestic, transport, and commercial sectors. Supported by its strong promoters – GAIL (India) Ltd. and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) – IGL aims to deliver natural gas services throughout the capital region.
The company's primary business objectives are:
To offer a safe, convenient, and reliable natural gas supply to customers in the domestic and commercial sectors.
To facilitate the use of natural gas in the transport sector as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), while providing Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for domestic and commercial users, and supplying R-LNG to industrial establishments.
