Led by Founder Chairperson Smt. Nita M Ambani, Reliance Foundation was set up in 2010 to provide impetus to various philanthropic initiatives of Relia Read more nce Industries Limited. The efforts of the group have already touched the lives of more than 76 million people across India in more than 55,550 villages and several urban locations.

Reliance Foundation has a comprehensive development approach.Its prime objective is to create and support meaningful activities through innovative institutions to address some of India’s most pressing developmental challenges.The three-pronged strategy of Reliance Foundation includes direct engagement, collaborations through partnerships and leveraging technology to create an ecosystem of development, comprising leaders of tomorrow who nudge communities to a more sustainable future.Over the years, Reliance Foundation’s initiatives have continued to evolve, while remaining responsive to the ever-changing needs of society.The Foundation is currently focusing on Rural Transformation, Health, Education, Sports for Development, Disaster Management, Women Empowerment , Arts, Culture & Heritage and Urban Renewal.To maximise its reach and improve outcomes, Reliance Foundation has also established strategic partnerships with organisations that have the technical expertise and experience to undertake various programmes in the identified focus areas of operation.

    • Rural Transformation

      Description

      Reliance Foundation aims to enable rural communities to be income secure, nutrition-sufficient, climate-resilient and gender-just. It works towards these goals by addressing challenges and enhancing farm and off-farm livelihoods, with a focus on climate-resilience and women empowerment. Reliance Foundation’s approach leverages synergies with communities and people’s institutions, peer or partner organisations and the government.

      Reliance Foundation’s Rural Transformation initiatives implemented by the RF-BIJ and RF-IS programmes have rallied rural communities around tailored development action plans at household, village or district level; facilitated resources and enabled pathways to collectivization, access to finance and markets; helped improve management and efficiency of resources, mainly water; empowered communities with information to safeguard livelihoods and help address challenges, reaching several million communities across rural India.

      Description

      Reliance Foundation focuses on improving healthcare access, strengthening India’s healthcare ecosystem and enhancing community awareness with an aim to encourage well-being and foster healthy living.

      Various health initiatives are undertaken across the spectrum of care, from primary to quaternary, with the Health Outreach programme taking preventive and primary care to underserved communities while the Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and other institutions of higher care in multiple locations complement the programme.

Reliance Foundation's educational institutions and initiatives recognize the need to realise the immense potential of the country's young demography today, to create a better India, tomorrow.

      Contributing towards the UN Social Development Goals 4 (quality education), Goal 8 (decent work and economic growth) and Goal 10 (reduced inequalities), Reliance Foundation's educational initiatives strive to enhance quality access to education for all, with a strong focus on the needs of disadvantaged and marginalised populations.

      To accelerate India's educational quotient, Reliance Foundation's initiatives in primary, secondary and tertiary education, use a two-pronged approach:
      * Developing world-class institutions that serve as models to transform and strengthen the country's education system
      * Nurturing India's youth and future global leaders to develop solutions to the country's problems and in parallel, ensure equitable access to education for all

      Description

      Reliance Foundation's vision is to empower women, towards economic, and social independence, thereby helping them gain agency over their decisions.

      In about a decade, India will have the largest number of women than any country in the world. Ensuring equal access and support to women will not only bridge the current economic, environmental, and social gaps, but also fuel the nation's growth, for a sustainable tomorrow. In alignment with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, Reliance Foundation strives to support women through various interventions that focus on leadership capacity building, digital literacy, employment and skills development, improving women's health, and enhancing women's opportunities in education, sports, and arts.

    • Disaster management

      Description

      Reliance Foundation has consistently supported communities across the country that are impacted by the natural and biological disasters. The Foundation has systematized its work in disaster management to develop a program that is built on the lessons from past experiences and setting up a structure for the future. These experiences supported in long-term planning and setting priorities in the form of holistic interventions to address the multidimensional challenges caused due to the climate change. As a result, the program developed into a well-founded system that started working holistically for risk reduction, response, and community capacity building across multiple region using ICT and GIS technologies.

      The Disaster Management programme has adopted ISO 9001:2015 standards (Quality Management System) for the entire process of responding to disasters, a unique status in India's CSR for disaster management.

In December 2022, On Reliance's Founder-Chairman Shri Dhirubhai Ambani’S 90th Birth Anniversary Mrs Nita Ambani, Reliance Foundation Founder & Chairperson, Announced Reliance Foundation’S Additional Commitment Of 50,000 Scholarships Over The Next 10 Years, Making It India’S Largest Private Scholarships. Since Then, 5100 Students Have Been Awarded Scholarships Every Year.
