The Museum of Art & Photography (MAP) aims to use the power of art to enrich lives, inspire creativity, and build connections. Through unique experien Read moreces and meaningful discussions, art is made accessible and engaging for everyone, fostering a sense of community. MAP houses a growing collection of paintings, sculptures, textiles, photographs, and pop culture artefacts from the 10th century to today. The museum spans six floors and includes art galleries, digital experience centres, a research and conservation lab, a shop, a café, a member's lounge, and a rooftop restaurant. Designed by Mathew & Ghosh, the building's steel-panelled façade with a cross pattern resembles an industrial water tank, symbolizing the preservation of art. The museum is committed to accessibility, and supporting visitors with disabilities, and aims to show museums as dynamic spaces that inspire humanity, empathy, and deeper connections to the world.

  • Workshops

    Education in arts and culture is integral to MAP’s mission, rooted in the belief that everyone can benefit from understanding the language of art. Tailored programs cater to diverse audiences and age groups, including workshops for students, capacity-building for teachers, and public lectures on varied topics. These initiatives explore innovative ways to engage with the collection, emphasizing the positive impact art can have on enriching lives and fostering meaningful connections.

  • Events and Exhibitions

    A wide array of curated events has provided unique experiences to deepen engagement with art and culture. These included workshops, walkthroughs, panel discussions, film screenings, youth-focused activities, and conferences throughout the year. Seven exhibitions were showcased, each offering distinct perspectives and narratives. Among them, Book of Gold: The Kanchana Chitra Ramayana of Banaras featured nearly 80 folios of an 18th-century illustrated Ramcharitmanas, displayed publicly for the first time.
