The Usha Silai School, spearheaded by Usha International Limited, is a transformative rural initiative aimed at empowering women across India. This pa Read moren-India program focuses on equipping women with sewing and stitching skills while providing them with the necessary support to establish self-sustaining micro-enterprises under the Usha Silai School banner. Usha International’s vision centers on unlocking the latent potential of women to foster holistic societal development. With empowerment at its core, the program stands out for its inclusivity, embracing women from diverse backgrounds, including rape survivors, manual scavengers, transgenders, and individuals with disabilities, irrespective of caste, creed, or culture. The Usha Silai School initiative thrives through collaborations with multiple stakeholders, bringing together cross-cultural experiences, expertise, and opportunities. Since its inception, the program has established over 31,000 schools across all 28 states and 8 union territories of India, with additional outreach in Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan. Beyond providing skills, these schools have created a significant economic impact, enabling Usha Silai homepreneurs to cumulatively earn over 100 crore rupees and train more than 10 lakh women to date.

This module equips women with resilience and competence to lead healthier and empowered lives.
