  • Water Stewardship

    Description

    Rejuvenation of Water Bodies
The Rejuvenation of Water Bodies (RWB) project focuses on cleaning and restoring underused or dried-up tanks to increase their capacity. With active projects in Cuddalore, Kasna, Khandala, Mysuru, Patancheru, Sriperumbudur, and Visakhapatnam, 67 water bodies have been restored, adding a total storage capacity of 903,531 CuM.

    Integrated Watershed Management (IWSM)
IWSM works to improve nature and communities in rural areas by managing land and water together. Their efforts include building Gully Plugs, Continuous Contour Trenches, Stone Bunds, renovating and constructing Nala Bunds, and planting trees.

    Canal Lining
Canal lining adds a waterproof layer to canals, helping them last longer and carry more water. Without it, 50-60% of the water leaks into the ground. This project is saving water in villages near the Rohtak manufacturing unit, with 415 meters of lining completed so far.

    Check Dam Construction/Renovation
A check dam is built across rivers or streams to slow water flow, prevent soil erosion, store more water, and recharge groundwater. In Gujarat's Narmada district, they are working on water projects by repairing and building new check dams in four areas mainly inhabited by tribal communities. So far, these projects have created the potential to store 18,122 cubic meters of water.
