Bandhan Bank Limited

Bandhan bank offers financial services, including loans and savings, to underserved communities in India, promoting financial inclusion.

About

In the 1990s, Chandra Shekhar Ghosh observed the struggles of Kolkata’s small-time traders, who had no choice but to rely on high-interest loans from Read more traditional moneylenders in order to grow their businesses. Driven by a strong desire to support these marginalized business owners, Ghosh founded Bandhan, a microfinance institution designed to provide loans—and hope—to the poorest. Over the course of a decade and a half, Bandhan made history by transforming into a universal bank, offering services to all socio-economic groups across India. Today, although Bandhan has expanded significantly, its mission remains unchanged: to build a financially inclusive India.
