In 1992, the Bishop of Kalyan entrusted the Missionary Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament (MCBS) to spearhead development initiatives in Maharashtr Read morea's Satara and Solapur districts. Over time, the Param Prasad Charitable Society (PPCS) has launched various projects in rural development, healthcare, education, and social welfare. Beginning from a small rented apartment in Karad, PPCS has made significant strides in healthcare, education, and supporting the elderly, homeless, and those with intellectual disabilities. A notable collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society backs one of the country's most extensive HIV/AIDS programs at Bel-Air Hospital in Panchgani. Key facilities include Ashraya Bhavan for the elderly destitute in Lonand, a boys' orphanage in Sadepur, and a planned home for physically challenged girls in Satara. Community initiatives include women's empowerment groups, nursery schools, and vocational training centers.

    Asha Gram, the “Village of Hope,” provides a loving and secure home for over a hundred intellectually disabled children in Ekambe, rural Satara. Spanning 75 acres, it has received generous infrastructure support over the years. Established by the Government in 1986, its conditions deteriorated until Param Prasad Charitable Society took over in 2000, transforming it into Asha Bhavan, a dedicated home for intellectually disabled orphaned children.

    The Society manages several educational institutions, including Mary Matha School in Mhaswad and Dahiwadi, St. Thomas School in Solapur, Deva Matha School in Sadapur, St. Joseph’s School in Barsi, and St. Xavier High School in Panchgani. Also, an Integrated Community Development Programme supports Mahila Mandals, Self-Help Groups, Nursery Schools, and Tailoring Schools, fostering education, skill development, and empowerment within the community.
