In the rural belts of Darjeeling, Dooars, and Siliguri, women and girls face high levels of domestic violence, sexual abuse, early marriage, and trafficking risk, but most cases remain invisible. Limited awareness of rights, distance from police and courts, and fear of social stigma stop survivors from seeking help until violence becomes life‑threatening. Many villages have no local crisis response, counsellor, or NGO presence.
Awareness & rights camps in villages/tea gardens
Conduct structured sessions on domestic violence, child sexual abuse, trafficking, and legal rights using stories, role‑plays, and local language materials.
Target women, adolescent girls, and families in high‑risk pockets.
    On‑the‑spot crisis and legal support
Set up a help desk at each camp for confidential one‑to‑one counselling.
Assist survivors with safety planning, FIRs, protection orders, and linkages to shelters, medical care, and government schemes.

This program provides 24×7 rescue, counselling, and legal support to women and children facing domestic violence, marital rape, sexual assault, and trafficking in and around Darjeeling, Dooars, Sikkim and Siliguri. When a crisis call comes—from police, neighbours, or the survivor—GWWF intervenes immediately: arranging safe rescue, emergency medical care, FIR filing, and shelter, followed by long‑term trauma counselling, family mediation where appropriate, and support to rebuild livelihoods. Donations help fund rescue travel, emergency stay, therapy sessions, and legal follow‑up so no survivor is left alone after the incident.
