    Manthan Sahara is implementing SHE Sansad – Balika Panchayat 2.0, an adolescent girls-led peer-to-peer learning and community development programme. In the first phase, the programme is being implemented in Khargone, Barwani, Bhopal and Singrauli, building on the successful experience of an earlier pilot implemented in Bhagwanpura Block, Khargone.

    The programme engages 200 adolescent girls as peer leaders and provides them with structured training on self-development, life skills, health education, menstrual hygiene, nutrition, anaemia awareness, digital awareness and the use of AI for learning and self-development. After receiving training, the girls act as peer educators and share their knowledge with other adolescent girls in their communities.

  • NABARD-Supported Sitafal (Custard Apple) Processing & Value Addition Programme – Dhar

    Manthan Sahara implemented a NABARD-supported livelihood development programme in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, focusing on women SHG members engaged in rural livelihoods. The programme supported 150 women SHG members through training in sitafal (custard apple) processing, value addition, product development, packaging and market-oriented practices.

    The programme went beyond training by providing continuous handholding and practical support to the women in processing, quality improvement, product development, costing, pricing and market linkage. The intervention enabled SHG members to move from selling raw produce to exploring value-added sitafal products, thereby improving income opportunities and strengthening sustainable livelihoods.

    The programme also promoted collective action among SHG members and encouraged women to develop local enterprise opportunities around the abundant sitafal produce available in the region.

    Manthan Sahara has been working extensively for women’s social and economic empowerment through community-based women’s collectives and livelihood development initiatives. The organization has supported the development, strengthening and capacity building of 200+ active Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and 150+ JLGs (Joint Liability Groups).

    Women members are provided with regular capacity building, skill development, financial awareness, enterprise development and livelihood support, along with continuous handholding to strengthen their income-generating activities. The organization also supports women in developing artisan-based enterprises and local livelihood opportunities, enabling them to improve their skills, productivity, market access and income.

The organization is associated with Malwa Painting, which has received Geographical Indication (GI) registration, and is working in collaboration with the Sant Ravidas Madhya Pradesh Hastshilp Evam Hathkargha Vikas Nigam to support and promote the art form.

    The organization is working with 300+ artists to strengthen Malwa Painting through artist capacity building, skill enhancement, product development, promotion, market linkage and livelihood support. The initiative aims to preserve the traditional art form while creating sustainable income and enterprise opportunities for artists.

The programme provides regular skill development and capacity-building training, government liaison and scheme facilitation, design development, product improvement and enterprise support.

    The organization is working across the complete value chain of sari-making—from raw material and production to design, finishing, branding, packaging, marketing and market linkage—to help women artisans improve product quality, productivity and income.

    Manthan Sahara is also exploring and promoting the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the artisan value chain, including design ideation, trend identification, product presentation, digital marketing, catalogue creation, customer communication and market outreach.
