Programs

  • National Green Crops (NGC)

    In the financial year 2019-2020, NEZWDS was appointed as the Kamrup District Nodal Agency by the Assam Science Technology and Environmental Council (ASTEC), a government body. Its role was to oversee the implementation of the National Green Crops (NGC)Programme in schools. The organisation successfully established 150 Eco-Clubs in various schools in Kamrup District and coordinated their activities. The NGO distributed Eco-Club enrollment forms and collected them from schools, ultimately selecting the top three Eco-Clubs in the district.

    Additionally, in collaboration with local residents in Chayani-barduar, Kamrup district, NEZWDS conducted a tree planting initiative, planting over 150 valuable tree saplings in the area. They also distributed saplings to nearby residents on World Environment Day. This day was marked by an awareness meeting held on the organization's premises.

  • National Bank For Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) & Farmer Producers Organisation (FPO) implementation

    NEZWDS was hired by NABARD to carry out various activities related to Farmer Producer Organisations in 2019-20. These activities included forming FPOs, conducting Basline Surveys in Chayani Barduar Development Block, mobilizing five new FPO clusters, providing training and awareness programs to the Board of Directors (BOD), and organizing exposure visits.The key objective of these activities was to promote sustainable and equitable agriculture and rural prosperity by providing credit support, related services, institution development, and other innovative initiatives.The organisation organised exposure visits for farmers, FPO Presidents, Secretaries, and members in Padumoni and Hiraghata Beel, Rangia.
    In 2019-20 NEZWDS was selected by NABARD as a representative of Farmers' Club Promoting Institution/Agency (FCPI). They formed twenty-two farmers' clubs in Boko and Chamaria Development Blocks and established a new FPO cluster in Chyani Barduar Block of Kamrup District.

  • Village Water & Sanitation Committee (VWSC) Under Nirmal Bharat Abhuan (NBA)

    ""Total Sanitation Campaign"" was initiated in 1999. The approach focused on Information, Education, and Communication , Human Resource Development, and Capacity Development to raise awareness among rural communities and generate demand for sanitary facilities. It aimed to empower people to make appropriate choices based on their economic conditions.

    Key elements of the program included financial incentives for Below Poverty Line households to construct and use individual household latrines , support for building school toilets, Anganwadi toilets, and Community Sanitary Complexes . Solid and Liquid Waste Management activities . The program got boost up by the introduction of the Nirmal Gram Puraskar.The Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan aimed to accelerate sanitation coverage in rural areas through a saturation approach. The goal was to create Nirmal Gram Panchayats by providing comprehensive coverage to the entire rural community.

  • Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme

    NEZWDS conducted an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme in Hatsingimari and Mankachar colleges located in South Salmara Mankachar District (Dhubri), Assam engaging approximately 240 participants to identify viable and innovative projects within specific sectors and facilitate their commercialisation to promote individual and overall growth. The key activities are- Creating a database of innovative projects in identified sectors,establishing an ecosystem for knowledge dissemination and grassroots application; raising awareness about innovation projects; providing support and assistance for project commercialisation,building forward and backward linkages. Implementing a reporting mechanism for project progress; offering project evaluation and conducting research.
