Panah - a mission of shelter, works with the aim of uplifting the marginalized sections of the society through education, infrastructure development, Read moreskill development, entrepreneurship training, rural electrification, biomass energy generation and solar power. It provides non-formal education to individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, including street children, beggars and individuals belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. In addition to providing education, it also works on ensuring basic health and family welfare for these individuals. It also undertakes infrastructure development projects like digging of wells, construction of roads, market sheds & canals and electrification of rural areas. Its activities on farmer welfare focus on providing assistance for farming activities through cattle fodder, seeds, grains, fertilizers and farming equipment. To provide efficient sources of energy supply in rural areas, it has undertaken projects on generation of biomass and solar energy. To promote sanitation, it has undertaken the construction of sanitary toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department of the Government. It also undertakes various activities in different districts of Assam to promote projects and initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Plantation, Women Education, Prohibition of Child Labor and Child Marriage and Societal Harmony. It has trained more than 3,000 individuals who have passed the NSEIT exam. 50 of these individuals have been successful in securing work with various banks as an Aadhar enrollment operator. It is also operating Permanent Account Number (PAN) Centers under the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) in various districts of Assam.
