A group of individuals joined together in 1992 with the vision of the Cachar Cancer Hospital Society because they thought that the region sorely neede Read mored a cancer hospital, as the only one in the northeast was located in far-off Guwahati. The Society's three main goals were to: (1) raise public awareness of cancer, encourage the adoption of preventative measures, and seek early detection; (2) create a full-fledged cancer hospital to offer significant services to all those in need; and (3) establish a centre for cancer research.

Action

The Society operates the Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (CCHRC), providing comprehensive cancer care including prevention, treatment, palliation, education, and research, with a focus on serving marginalized and economically impoverished patients.
