Rapid Action For Human Advancement Tradition Rahat

The objective of the initiative is to establish essential services and strengthen the necessary structures for child protection in Kishanganj district, Bihar. This includes creating a continuum of services for emergency outreach, institutional care, family and community-based care, counseling, and support. The initiative aims to define and set standards for all services and operational manuals for statutory bodies. It has formed Block Level Child Protection Committees in seven blocks and Village Level Child Protection Committees in 126 villages, with representation from various stakeholders, to recommend and monitor the implementation of child protection services at both block and village levels.

Kishanganj district in Bihar is noted as a source, transit, and destination for human trafficking, particularly child and women trafficking. Rahat organization is actively involved in preventing human trafficking in this region by working with the community, government agencies, and local leaders to raise awareness, sensitize people to social norms, and provide rehabilitation and counseling to those rescued from trafficking, with a particular focus on women and girls.

Institute of Skill & Management Technology, a unit of Rapid Action For Human Advancement Tradition (RAHAT) has been running a centre at Kishanganj of Bihar since 2018 for a one-year diploma in “COMPUTER APPLICATION, BUSINESS ACCOUNTING AND MULTILNGUAL – DTP” guided by the National Council For promotion of Urdu Language, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher education, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
