The organization exists from year 2002 and is working in Raigarh district since inception. It envisions bringing livelihood enhancement of target fami Read morelies through sustainable utilization of existing land, water and forest resources. It is to be catalyzed by value chain development, knowledge up- gradation, and credit access. JanMitram facilitates its beneficiaries to avail better access to the inputs and services either directly or through networking and convergence. Community participation in this process is organized through proven tool of SHGs and aggregating them into sustainable federations. Economic development makes no sense if it’s not coupled better health and living conditions. JanMitram intervenes in community health and tries to ensure better hygiene and sanitation in village localities and ensure vaccination and nutritional intake. This is again, done with help of peer who stand from community itself. Skill development and employment generation is third major issue JanMitram deals with. Its target group i.e. unskilled labor and semi-educated youth are taken for skill acquiring, skill enhancement and entrepreneurship development training and they are supported with post training follow-up with technical and financial and managerial perspective of their business.

Programs

  • Trible Development Programme. Wadi Development Programme.

    The program is meant to develop waste land into cultivable land and to improve income level through horticulture and agri allied activities. Our programme help farmers to invest basic resources like irrigation, fencing, fruit plants and a proper planning round the year intercrops by this method we have successfully created green cover over 1500 acres of land and changed lives of 1000 families.

  • Nand Ghar Programme Chhattisgarh

    A CSR initiative of Vedanta Foundation who works for betterment of aanganbadis in India. Presently there are 262 Nand Ghars are operational across 06 districts in Chhattisgarh.

Theory of Change

Janmitram is one of India’s finest non profit organizations; currently working with 15000 families across 300 villages of northern Chhattisgarh, where over 80% of population relies on subsistence agriculture and living under poverty line since inception. The organization is continuously working on health, education, sustainable use of natural resources, women’s empowerment, youth development, child care and social enterprise. The organization exists from year 2002 and primarily works in tribe dominated district of Raigarh in Chhattisgarh state. The organization was formed by professionals of different fields with a vision to bring livelihood enhancement through sustainable utilization of existing land, water and forest resources.

Milestones & Track Record

Development of WADI in tribal areas to uplift their livelihood. Benefitted more than 10000 families across 21 years and improved their livelihood status along with their economical growth.

1. Outstanding performance in working for women and child in northern Chhattisgarh in 2013.
2. Best production award of ‘Lac’ entrepreneurship in 2007.
3. Superintendent of police gave this certificate for its tireless efforts and constant support for organizing “Save the girl child” in 2012.
4. This certificate was being given to Janmitram under the desirable norms prescribed for good governance of voluntary organizations.
5. An appreciation letter from governor of Bihar in 2008, for its mission ‘operation samvedna’(Relief work for flood affected people in Bihar).
