Programs

  • Hariyali

NABARD has authorised CF-SHORE to create and strengthen Farmer's Clubs in Rajnandgaon and Kabeerdham districts. So far, CF-SHORE has established 141 Farmer's Clubs with 1942 members and savings of nearly Rs. 1,131,120. Over 75% of these clubs are involved in income-generating activities such as fishery, goat and pig farming, vegetable cultivation, weekly market contracts, and collective farming. These Farmer's Clubs collaborate with national and state agricultural and livelihood schemes, and their members actively contribute to social and rural development in their respective villages, aligning with government initiatives for rural development.

  • Jatan

The Jatan project is a short-term initiative supported by the World Bank and carried out in partnership with the Micro Insurance Academy (MIA), New Delhi. It focuses on offering health insurance to lower-income families in 75 remote tribal villages in the Chhuria and Chowki blocks of Rajnandgaon district. Launched in June 2013, the project has enrolled 3,810 individuals in both blocks, with 163 people having already received benefits through community insurance claims. The project was officially introduced in the presence of government officials from the respective blocks, with MIA and CF-SHORE project managers outlining its goals and encouraging people to enroll for project benefits.

  • Udaan

Udaan's main goal is to promote Disability Inclusive Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) services and the rights of Persons with Disabilities. With the support of WaterAid India, it is being implemented in 29 villages in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh. Despite its proximity to Rajnandgaon Township, the project area lacks proper water and sanitation facilities for Persons with Disabilities, denying their basic rights. Its activities include sensitising persons with disabilities, their families, and the community, strengthening Disabled People's Organizations (DPOs), providing orientation to Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and elected representatives, demonstrating disability-inclusive WASH facilities, and observing significant days like World Toilet Day, World Disability Day, World Water Day, and Global Hand Washing Day. The project aims to motivate the community to achieve Open defecation-free villages and promote the rights of persons with disabilities in the region.

  • Sangi

This project, supported by CBM through BPA Ahmedabad, focuses on creating livelihood opportunities for people with disabilities in 40 villages across 26 Gram Panchayats in Rajnandgaon block of Rajnandgaon district, Chhattisgarh. It involves providing skill development training to youth with disabilities in various areas such as tailoring, carpentry, masonry, grocery retail, mobile repairing, auto repairing, cycle repairing, animal husbandry, computer skills, and beauty parlour services. • Mitan

The Mitan project, supported by CBM India and initiated in 2014-15, is being carried out in 29 villages spanning 20 Panchayats in Rajnandgaon block of Rajnandgaon district. Its primary objective is to promote organic farming among persons with disabilities and impoverished farmers in the target area. The project aims to achieve environmental preservation, pollution reduction, lower agricultural costs, and the inclusion of persons with disabilities in farming activities through the development of suitable equipment. Project activities include raising awareness about organic farming, providing training and demonstrations on compost and pesticide production, and promoting farming using organic methods. Additionally, the Mitan project has established healthcare institutions with curative and preventative services, pioneering surgical facilities in the region in the 1950s. These community-oriented services have an outreach program, serving rural tribal populations in disadvantaged areas.
