Since
2008
We have been teaching underprivileged children in Delhi, Gurgaon and Faridabad since April 2008 and our education program targets children studying in Read more classes I to 10 in govt schools. Currently we teach 653 children in two slums of Delhi, two villages of Gurgaon and one village of Faridabad. Quality of education is not satisfactory in govt schools hence this program complements the gaps in school education and sustains the interest of children and their parents in formal education system. Due to this program children are regular in schools and they do not drop out. They understand subjects better and are able to handle class assignments properly. Classes are conducted in slums and villages after school hour i.e., from 2 pm to 7 pm. We conduct remedial classes for those children who live in slums/villages and study in govt schools. Currently we run six centres for primary, four centres for secondary and one centre for non formal education.

Theory of Change
Theory of Change:
Challenges: Children are not learning at their grade level and losing interest in continuing their education.
Intervention: Children attend remedial classes run by CSSAR near their homes. This helps them learn as well as complete their home assignments and encourages them to continue their education.
Change: There is remarkable improvement in the learning levels of the children and attendance in school. Children and their parents feel motivated to continue schooling and consider pursuing professional career opportunities. Their achievements become an inspiration for other children in the household and community, especially girls.
