  • Primary schools

Classes are conducted in readily accessible outdoor areas located at the heart of the village. Recognizing that children often assist their families in income-generating activities during the day, the school day spans three hours and commences in the afternoon. The dedicated teachers, chosen by a village committee, are local youths who have completed at least 10th grade. They receive specialized training in pedagogy tailored to the unique requirements of rural children. To ensure educational excellence, the teachers participate in ongoing training sessions. The curriculum, consistent across all Ekal schools, encompasses core subjects such as language, arithmetic, and science. Additionally, students engage in physical education, health education, and creative arts.
The student body and teaching staff represent diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds. The curriculum is adapted to honour local customs, employ local languages, and incorporate indigenous traditions.
