In its Community Health & Development Programme, the organisation focuses on empowering communities to become healthy, prosperous, and caring. It works towards reducing disease burden, promoting economic prosperity, and addressing various thematic areas such as disability, mental health, reproductive maternal and child health, human trafficking, child abuse, and climate change. It has been actively involved in training healthcare professionals, developing policies, and engaging in community-based initiatives to achieve these goals. The organisation aims to include people with disabilities, enhance mental health services, reduce mortality rates, combat human trafficking, and promote environmental sustainability in the communities it serves.

Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA), has been actively involved in responding to numerous disasters, including the Nepal Earthquake, Manipur Floods, Manipur Earthquake, and J&K Emergency Flood, by providing emergency medical assistance, food, hygiene kits, and psychosocial support, especially for children. EHA has aligned its disaster response strategies with national and global frameworks for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) to build resilient communities. It has conducted disaster preparedness training for various groups, including hospitals, and promoted disability-inclusive approaches to disaster response. With a focus on capacity building and cooperation, EHA aims to expand its reach and enhance emergency response mechanisms to contribute to building a more resilient and prepared community in line with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.

Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA) runs a comprehensive eye care program across its 12 hospitals, offering year-round eye care services. Ophthalmic technicians and nurses manage outpatient services, and in the absence of eye surgeons, they select patients for surgery. EHA's services include screenings, medical treatments, and surgeries, with a focus on cataract surgery to prevent blindness. It conducts rural screening programmes to reach those with limited access to hospitals. EHA achieves a 98.7% rate of intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. Some hospitals offer glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy screenings. It also operates optical shops to provide affordable eyeglasses to patients, reducing the need for long travels. EHA invests in equipment and diagnostic tests to enhance eye care, including disposable surgical drapes for infection control.
