Rural Employment and Poverty
StateA Kerala Poverty Eradication Program's Outcomes, Effects, and Teachings for Other States
An evaluation study of Kerala's SHG-based rural livelihood initiative, Kudumbasree, has been conducted by KDS. In order to determine if KDMS has significantly decreased poverty through successful collaboration and partnership with local governments, KDS has evaluated the program's effectiveness as a means of eradicating poverty. It has also offered suggestions for how to increase KDMS's efficacy and influence on poverty in light of shifting socioeconomic conditions both domestically and internationally. It has looked at whether KDMS may be replicated as a decentralized poverty reduction initiative in other Indian states. An action plan for implementing the program in more Indian states has been developed by the study.
